Inscribed to the prominent American biographer and military aviation historian Ed Jablonski apparently through the agency of Hollywood personality Chuck Morrell 1937-2005 who appeared in numerous bit parts through the Sixties and Seventies. Jablonski 1922-2004 himself an ex-fighter pilot was the author of numerous books on WW2 aviation including Flyiing Fortress 1968 Airwar 1971 and Double Strike 1974. Doubleday unknown

Bradbound at top edge with printed studio boilerplate cover title sheet. Very minor use a few short edges tears and smudges to cover title leaf but a rather nice copy of a fragile format. A superimposition script i.e. a detailed post-production script for use by those translating the film for foreign release including prefatory material composed of a special synopsis and full credits. LeMay's script was partially an adaptation of Harold Sherman's play MARK TWAIN drawing as well on other biographical and original material. Additional dialogue was contributed by Harry Chandlee. Frederic March Alexis Smith John Carradine and others starred under the direction of Irving Rapper. This was LeMay's fourth screen credit. General Curtis LeMay 1906-1990 was a general in the United States Air Force. He is best remembered for the strategic yet controversial bombings of mainland Japan. His firebombing of Tokyo was considered crucial to the Allied victory in the Pacific Theater but resulted in a massive loss of civilian life. Yellow paper dust jacket with black image and writting and blue coth hadcover with gold lettering on cover and spine. The jacket has wear and small tears to most all sides and a small corner is missing on top of the back cover/spine. Jacket does have some marks and discoloration and the image on the front has some patchy fading. The dust jacket has been wrapped to prevent and further damage to it. Cover of book is in very good condition. Page ends have a couple of water droplet marks and frist couple pages are slightly wavy so they may have gotten wet sometime in its past. Previous owner's name in on the inside of the front and back cover. The auther has signed the title page under her printed name no inscription. Other than that the interior of the book appears to be in excellent with no other marks or notations. Please note that this is Volume II only. ; 10 3/4" x 7 1/2"; Signed by Author .
