The first publicly available US edition of this literary classic, following private publication in 1926 and the limited edition of 1935. Winston Churchill believed that it 'ranks with the greatest books ever written in the English language'. The work forms the basis of David Lean's multiple Oscar-winning feature film 'Lawrence of Arabia' (1962) starring Peter O'Toole and Omar Sharif. Enser, p.191; O'Brien A42.
