From Foreword: A few years ago Textile World prepared a Cotton Mill handbook to bring to cotton mills a resume of current progress in methods equipment and technique. Demand for the book far exceeded our expectations and it ran through several editions. Now however after months of effort an entirely new Handbook for Cotton Mills has been prepared. Larger in size than the previous edition and bound in a manner that will facilitate preservation this book should meet a real need of the industry.Nowadays it is more important than ever that textile men be thoroughl familiar with new developments and that needless breakdowns delays and inefficiencies be prevented. For this reason the Question and Answer section has dealt with many of these common problems -- and it is hoped will prove of real help and assistance.
