Illustrat- ion shows the Chinese pirate junk beig attached by a small English craft with a large cannon while H.M. Flamer shoots cannon fire. This battle took place in the neighborhood of the Ning-Po. Chinese naval pirates became bolder as the Bri- tish fleet reduced their patrols in the Shanghai area. The building looks immense despite the large crowds of people in the foreground. The Crystal Palace was erected in Hyde Park and housed the Great Exhibition of 1851 considered the first worldwide exhibition. The building housed 14000 exhibitors in 990k square feet.
