La prima apparizione in stampa di questi tre autori (a cura di Francesco Amadi): Brocardo, Delfino e Molza, e quindi la prima edizione del celebre poema di Molza La nimpha tiberina. Antonio Brocardo, figlio del celebre filosofo Marino Brocardo, nacque a Venezia all'inizio del Cinquecento e studiò poesia sotto Gabriel Trifone. Fu amico di Sperone che lo introdusse nel suo Dialogo della Rettorica e allude anche a un sonetto (mai pubblicato) in lode alle cortigiane nei suoi Amori. Commettendo l'enorme errore di tentare di screditare le opere di Bembo, allora tenuto in grande rispetto a Venezia e Padova, morì di crepacuore nel 1531, provocato dai selvaggi attacchi a lui, sostenendo Pietro Aretino di essere il capobanda. Molza, invece, fu celebrato dall'intera intellighenzia romana della prima metà del Cinquecento. Nato a Modena nel 1489 si trasferì presto a Roma dove la sua poesia sembra aver avuto un successo maggiore delle sue relazioni amorose, una delle quali quasi finì con la morte da un pretendente rivale e lo fece diseredare dal padre. Dal 1529 al 1535 fu alla corte del cardinale Ippolito de 'Medici e alla sua morte passò a quella del cardinale Alessandro Farnese. Morì nella sua città natale nel 1544. Dice Tiraboschi di lui ""Merita veramente questo onore (l’edizione proposta dal Cardinale Farnese delle opere di Molza nel 1547), in quanto è uno dei più dotti poeti in rima di questo secolo, e all'eleganza dello stile lega la nobiltà dei pensieri e di immagini ""Census B3755; non in Adams; NUC individua le copie a Columbia e Yale; RLIN aggiunge Michigan, Harvard e Folger; nessuna ulteriore copia individuata da OCLC. The first appearance in print of these three authors (edited by Francesco Amadi): Brocardo, Delfino and Molza, and therefore the first edition of Molza’s celebrated poem La nimpha tiberina. Antonio Brocardo, the son of the celebrated philosopher Marino Brocardo, was born in Venice at thebeginning of the sixteenth century and studied poetry with Gabriel Trifone. He was a friend of Sperone who introduced him in his Dialogo dell Rettorica and also alludes to a sonnet (never published) in praise of courtesans in his Amori. Making the enormous mistake of trying to discredit the works of Bembo, then held in great respect in Venice and Padua, he died of a broken heart in 1531, brought about by the savage attacks on him, Pietro Aretino claiming to be the ringleader. Molza, on the other hand, was lionised by the entire Roman intelligentsia of the first half of the sixteenth century. Born in Modena im 1489 he soon moved to Rome where his poetry seems to have been a greater success than his love affairs, one of which almost ended in his death from a rival suitor and caused him to be disinherited by his father. From 1529 to 1535 he was in the court of Cardinal Ippolito de’ Medici and after his death he passed to that of Cardinal Alessandro Farnese. He died in his hometown in1544. Tiraboschi says of him “He truly deserves this honour (Cardinal Farnese’s proposed edition of Molza’s works in 1547), as he is one of the most learned rhyming poet of this century, and to elegance of the style he links the nobleness of thoughts and vividness of images” Censimento B3755; not in Adams; NUC locates the copies at Columbia and Yale; RLIN adds Michigan, Harvard and Folger; no furter copy located by OCLC."
