"The scarcity of documentation that exists on the furniture of Frank Lloyd Wright one of the twentieth century's most famous and influential architects and designers has engendered much speculation as to what he actually contributed to the field of furniture design. No direct influence was exerted upon the young architect in this area although the Arts & Crafts movement was of interest to Wright; his created designs reveal a response to his love of nature and the need to integrate his work as closely as possible with the natural world."--BOOK JACKET.

"This is a book about ideas and innovation as much as it is about interiors and furniture. Auction houses museums galleries and the author's own extensive collection of nearly 50000 photographs taken in the course of his restoration work have been consulted and used to bring together a vast collection of richly informative illustrations. These present a fascinating cross-section of both freestanding and built-in furniture."--BOOK JACKET. "Heinz's opening introduction precedes a chronological tour through Wright's houses. Six chapters examine periods 1889-1900 1900-1910 1910-1936 1936-1959 the Heritage-Henredon collections of designs and colour materials and details. Each period is accompanied by an incisive periodical review. Throughout the book various buildings are highlighted and explored in depth such as the Susan Lawrence Dana House the Ward Willits House the Robie House and the later and more expansive Aline Barnsdall House."--BOOK JACKET. "The final period of Wright's working life known as his 'Usonian' period focused on his extensive work with plywood. This is analysed together with the fabrics rugs and colours which Wright worked on concurrently. The appendix in this volume includes a full listing of furniture and drawings a bibliographical survey of publications on or including works by Wright a glossary of furniture terms and by assigned numbers a list of all the Wright buildings covered in the book."--Jacket

Includes bibliographical references pages 259-262. 199409088Great Britain: Academy Editions 1994. Book. Near Fine. Hardcover. First Edition. Folio. Trace of wear bumping to corners and light wear at the upper corner of the dust jacket front panel. 264 pages with Bibliography and Glass Glossary. 396 illustrations mostly in color. From the publisher: "This lavishly illustrated book devotes itself to Wright's formidable contribution to the medium and features a number of powerful two-dimensional graphic designs and a number of three-dimensional units. Stained glass in the USA as well as the technical aspects of glass making are discussed. The majority of his work in glass was concentrated into the first decade of the 20th century when Wright abandoned old-fashioned stained glass windows and began experimenting with light screens of concrete developing into wood fretwork and glass block and tubing." -------Oversized book that will require extra postage for Priority and International shipping.-------. 199564692Annapolis MD: Naval Institute Press 1995. Reprint. Second printing 1996. Hardcover. Very good. No dust jacket. xvi 314 3 p. Maps. Ilustrations. Tables. Occasional Footnotes. A Note on Sources. Glossary. Gulf War Chronology. Index. Secretary of the Air Force Donald B. Rice created the Gulf War Air Power Survey to review all aspects of air warfare in the Persian Gulf. Although commissioned by the Air Force the survey was directed to alless all aspects of air power in the gulf including air operaitons by all American and allied armed services. The Survey produced reports on planning the conduct of operations the effects of the air campaign command and control logistics air base support space weapons and tactics as well as a chronology and a compendium of statistics on the war. It prepared as well a summary report shorter papers and a archived of paper microfilm and electronic records now lodged at the Air Force Historical Research Agency at Maxwell Air Force Base Alabama. The GUlf War Air Power Survey Summary Report was originally published by the U.S. Government prinitng Office in 1993. Because government bookstores are not as widely accessible as commercial outlets and out of a desire to provide a more useful one-volume work on the air war in the Persian Gulf the authors proposed to the Naval Institute Press publishing a revised version of the Summary Report. The current volume differs from the original Summary Report in three important ways. First Chapter 9 consists of chapters 9 and 10 of the original Summary Report with minor deletions. Second some new text has been added. The new chapter 10 consists chiefly of extracts from an article by Eliot A. COhen that attempted to explain some of the lessons of the Survey to a broader audience. The chronology and statistical appendices were added. Naval Institute Press hardcover
