Ex-library with only few marks and stamps on the endpaper otherwise clean and tight inside, in excellent conditions throughout, hardly read. Comprehensive treatise on weighing machines in 3 volumes, vols I and II written by T J Metcalfe deal with the main subject and mechanical weighing machines; vol. III was written by E H Griffiths and deals with the applications of electricity and electronics to weighing machines. Both authors were Chief Inspectors of Weights and Measures. Profusely illustrated by diagrams, charts, tables and b/w pictures, vols I and II contain many folding plates showing in detail the various mechanisms. Heavy set, almost 2kg before packing.
