1954222612Australia. Circa1954. An album of 128 black and white photographs and 12 colour postcards detailing a trip to Ceylon in 1954 cord tie. 25 x 33cm. Few postcards loose leaves trifle friable cloth-covered boards little shelf worn overall in good condition. Although the album begins with aerial shots of the P&O Stratheden in Sydney and includes a few non-contemporary studio photographs of Ceylon the majority of the album is comprised of private photographs with handwritten captions and dates. Loosely inserted at the rear is the original photographic film within a Kodak-branded sleeve a 14-page stapled booklet introducing guests to the Galle Face Hotel in Colombo and an itinerary of a motor tour of Ceylon presumably undertaken by the album's creator. . hardcover

A very interesting suite of views. An appealing suite of twelve historic views. We have been unable to source the printer or studio but they are likely to be after M.S. Nakajima the influential Japanese photographer who first advertised on the island in 1911. Un in-12 de 197 x 133 mm pour 269 pp. Reliure demi-cuir originale, dos à 4 nerfs soulignés en pointillés dorés, nervures soulignant les nerfs, nom d'auteur et premier mot du titre en caractères d'imprimerie dorés. Plats marbrés marron, pages de garde vertes. Étiquette d'un journal brésilien annonçant l'exécution de l'auteur collée sur la page de faux-titre, datée du 21 mai 1943. Signature d'ancien propriétaire en page de titre. "Le développement de la psychologie nous réserve certainement de grandes surprises car l'histoire d'une science ne se devine pas à priori.
