Comprising 188 postcards of which 8 coloured loosely mounted on 47 slatted turquoise leaves in a contemporary purpose made album decorated with hearts and shamrocks and titled "POSTCARDS" to upper cover. Titles to the majority in various languages. Includes a menu card for breakfast dinner tea supper aboard H.M.S. "Protector" on Christmas day 1937. Presentation inscription in red ink reading: "Harold Fogg age 6 years / Birthday Present from Mama & Dada / 1909" to front paste down. Binding rubbed some leaves frayed at edges one leaf loose. The postcards show the following locales: -Hong Kong c.50 -Peking Beijing 6 -Singapore c.22 -Kuala Lumpur 10 -Malaya -Borneo -Dairen -Beppu Japan -Nagasaki -Penang -Ceylon -Port Said -Shanghai [c.1909-1935] unknown

All 24 cards are in non-adhesive transparent protective sleeves.</p><p><em>The Franco-British Exhibition was a large public fair held in London between 14 May and 31 October 1908. It was the first in the series of the White City Exhibitions. The exhibition attracted 8 million visitors and celebrated the Entente Cordiale signed in 1904 by the United Kingdom and France. The chief architect of the buildings was John Belcher. </em><em>The Exhibition was held in an area of west London near Shepherd's Bush which is now called White City: the area acquired its name from the exhibition buildings which were all painted white. 191529358Trier Germany: Schaar & Dathe 1915. 85 b&w postcards printed by Schaar & Dathe of Trier who were one of the biggest German postcard printers and used During W.W.I the company had 15 presses and employed 150 workers & used letterpress lithograph and collotype processes. Creating postcards during the war was an easy affordable way to spread the news visually about the areas most affected by combat through images of ruins life in the camps and the cleanup efforts of soldiers and civilians. The interchanges between the children speak to shortages of candles the destroyed family clock marching with guns children lined up for military service babies grown big enough for going to the war. Franz Karl Delavilla born 1884 in Vienna was studying at academy of performing arts in Vienna as pupil of C.O. Czeschka and Berthold Löffler from 1913 on professor at the academy of performing art in Magdeburg Hamburg and Frankfurt.
