All are addressed to Alfred Creutzberg handwritten in English or German on the verso except one where the handwriting is written in the photo border framing the girl's face with their original postage stamps and postmarks. Mr. Creutzberg must have been a known fan of the ladies as the singers and actresses his friends sent him include: Janet Alexander Reta Walter 2 but not duplicates Aenny Hindermann image a bit silvered prettily so Edna May Isabel Jay and Denise Orme. <br/><br/> unknown

218559Japan. Twenty one postcards 5 in colour the rest black and white photographic images. Some occasional spotting and browning light wear edges and one creased in places. Presented in a slightly chipped black lacquer box. Overall the collection is in fair to good condition. An interesting miscellaneous collection of twenty one Japanese postcards in a black lacquer box mostly dating from the 1910s and 1920s. Fourteen of these show scenes from a large Japanese military training exercise held in November 1919. Each card has a commemorative stamp of the Army Training Exercise and its date November 1919. There is also a card featuring a painting of the OSK line ship "Amerika Maru" and another with a picturesque Japanese scene and an inset photo of the OSK ship "Konan Maru" possibly a souvenir card given to passengers on the ship. Two other cards are New Year's greeting cards one of them dated 1939 and rather curiously written in Russian although it appears to have been sent from one Japanese man to another. Perhaps the most interesting in the collection is a postcard from Crown Prince Hirohito's 1921 visit to England which shows the Crown Prince shaking hands with one of Lloyd George's grandchildren although the scene is completely stolen by another small grand-daughter who stands in the middle of the photograph completely ignoring the presence of the Crown Prince. The collection also includes a 1948 entry permit to a market run by the Osaka Fruit and Vegetable Association. . unknown

Ten RPPC silver gelatin photographs all w/ description and inventory number w/in negative at lower fore-edge slight age toning very slight edgewear still VG. A nice set of 10 souvenir RPPC’s shot during the 100 day run of the Oregon Centennial Exposition. The 1859-1959 Centennial Exposition lasted from June 10 to Sept. 17 on 65 acres along the Columbia River formerly Vanport wiped away in the tragic 1948 flood and also featured a Gayway Amusement Park Garden of Tomorrow & Adventureland. The Exposition featured everything from Mossman’s Can-Can girl revue to steam locomotives Modernist sculptures and murals by Louis Bunce and other Oregon artists and the striking Hall of Religious History in the Garden of Tomorrow which featured murals of Carl Morris. This re-created town from the 1870’s Old West featured the Golden Nugget dance hall & saloon as well as livery stable church post office and hotel and proved to be the most successful attraction. The Oregon Centennial only attracted about 1.5 million visitors and largely operated at a loss which encouraged the nascent Seattle World’s Fair organizers to strip out their Western theme and focus instead on their later very successful Century 21 futurism theme.
