Very good exemplars enclosed in a small plastic presentation folder provided with twenty clear pockets of 6x4 inches each to contain two back-to-back cards of which three contain one card only and another none at all the rest filled to capacity. There are 13 b&w cards the rest 22 are in color or colorized. Good ones! especially the fancy color items. Spot-checking suggests that this was an active collection not a group purchased en masse as the terminal card is marked discreetly "$1.00" in pencil. Most unused though a couple have greetings/portage/postmarks to verso. promotional office unknown

About The Author : James Compton Burnett was born on July 10, 1840 and died April 2, 1901. Dr. Burnett attended medical school in Vienna, Austria in 1865. Alfred Hawkes converted him to homeopathy in 1872 (in Glasgow). In 1876 he took his MD degree.Burnett was one of the first to speak about vaccination triggering illness.This was discussed in his book, Vaccinosis, published in 1884.Along with other nosodes, he introduced the remedy Baccillinum. A prodigious writer he published over twenty books in his lifetime. His book, Fifty Reasons for Being a Homoeopath (1888), is of particular note for beginning homeopaths.J.H. Clarke, Robert T. Cooper, and James Compton Burnett together formed the 'Cooper Club'.This regular meeting of leading British homeopaths was the source of many of the symptoms in Clarke's Dictionary of Materia Medica.Clarke says of Burnett, "…during the last twenty years Burnett has been the most powerful, the most fruitful, and the most original force in homeopathy". Creating postcards during the war was an easy affordable way to spread the news visually about the areas most affected by combat through images of ruins life in the camps and the cleanup efforts of soldiers and civilians. Franz Karl Delavilla born 1884 in Vienna was studying at academy of performing arts in Vienna as pupil of C.O. Czeschka and Berthold Löffler from 1913 on professor at the academy of performing art in Magdeburg Hamburg and Frankfurt. The interchanges between the children speak to shortages of candles the destroyed family clock marching with guns children lined up for military service babies grown big enough for going to the war.
