Upon his death all of his possessions including his writings were seized by the crown and it is thought a large portion of his 'Memoires' disappeared. It was revealed through his memoires that Saint-Simon had many enemies mostly courtiers. For example in these memoirs he proclaims his hatred to the illegitimate children of Louis XIVAn incomplete set containing information for the years 1691 to 1709 the full works continues to 1723.This new edition was edited by Arthur de Boislisle a French archivist and historian.
