Yukon Star, each measuring 8.5" x 5.5" and featuring a charming color cover illustrations of a notable Alaskan dog, with brief write-ups of each dog on back page. Dogs include: Blizzard - owned by Slim Williams; Two Husky puppies; Wolf - raced by Mary Joyce in the Alaska Dog Derby; Cheechako - owned by Lieutenant Colonel Francis E. Maslin; Rye - given to the Army at Chilkoot Barracks by Mary Joyce; Mageik - Father Hubbard's famous sled dog; Jack - racing dog owned by Grover Bayless of Fairbanks; and Smokey - a favorite among forty army dogs formerly stationed at Chilkoot Barracks. Original photographic print measuring 6.75 x 11.5 ins (approx. 17.0 x 29.0 cms) laid on badged and captioned mount of beige card, the mount moderately age-soiled at extremities. The photograph depicts the 2nd Battalion on parade at Chelsea Barracks. The mount is badged for the Battalion and captioned 2nd Battalion Coldstream Guards, Chelsea Barracks, June 1925. A superb and most unusual momento of the 2nd Battalion between the wars. The 2nd Battalion Coldstream Guards (1684-1993) was placed in suspended animation on 31 December 1993. Its traditions are maintained by in the incremental No. 7 Company. EXTREMELY SCARCE.

Includes detailed accounts of all memorials, panels and dedications. The Royal Military Chapel was badly damaged during the Blitz, and then totally destroyed with great loss of life by flying-bomb in 1944. It was subsequently rebult as the present-day Guards' Chapel. VERY SCARCE.
