8vo., First Edition, with 16 full-page maps in the text; regimental grey cloth, crest blocked in gilt on upper cover, gilt back, a very good, clean copy in the dustwrapper, the latter mildly rubbed, creased and frayed at edges. The author served with this famous Canadian regiment throughout WWII. In 1940 it served briefly in France, returned to the UK for further training, landed in Sicily in July 1943, fought on the Italian mainland until early 1945 and then took part in the final battles for Germany.
