Sm. 8vo., First Edition, with pictorial endpapers; original wrappers printed in green, yapped edges, uncut, a good, clean copy in the scarce dustwrapper, the latter chipped, frayed and with moderate repairs. Oxenham's second volume of inspirational verse, following 'Bees in Amber'. Intended for servicemen in the front line, it was at least a commercial success; the first impression (as here) comprised 12,000 copies of which few seem to have survived (although the several later reprints are relatively common). It was issued in two binding styles, the present printed wrappers and a boxed version in calf. Needless to say, copies in the original wrappers are scarce, particularly in the dustwrapper. A rare and fragile survival in this condition.
