With a 3pp. A.L.s. on The Pines letterhead dated 14 XII 06 asking an acquaintance to lunch or dinner in hopes of obtaining an "opinion upon a point connected with abeyance in an old barony. It is connected with a novel that I am now working on." The letter is in a secretarial hand but is signed in full by Watts-Dunton. Aylwin the author's best known work is a roman a clef with "a number of disguised Pre-Raphaelite characters including Rossetti".
