In 8° (23,4x15,2 cm); 216 pp. Brossura editoriale rosa con titolo impresso in nero al piatto anteriore entro cornice, qualche strappetto, piccole mancanze e difetto. Testo entro cornice xilografica. Qualche piccola macchiolina di foxing. Prima edizione di celebre racconto storico del novarese, originario di Maggiate (oggi frazione di Gattico), Ercole Luigi Costantino Scolari. L'opera riguarda i fatti storici lombardi (la distruzione di Biandrate, Federico Barbarossa, ecc). Le prime 20 pagine contengono il "Cenno storico sulla Lega Lombarda", mentre in fine al volume sono raccolte utili note storiche che esemplificano al lettore il quadro storico nel quale si svolgono i fatti. L'esemplare si presenta all'interno in buone condizioni di conservazione e a fogli ancora chiusi. Non comune.

Aquilino in S. Lorenzo; il testo è ornato da grandi testate (alc. raffigurano vedute), grandi capilett. figur. a vignetta e finalini; il tutto magistralmente inc. in rame da Domenico Aspari L’opera è illustrata da 1 tav. che riproduce un diploma di Federico e da 1 bellissima carta topografica di Milano (mm. 590x640), pure inc. in rame, f.t. "Prima edizione" su carta azzurrina. Cfr. Lozzi,I,2633 - Brunet,VI,25374 - Cat. Hoepli,696 che precisa: "E' questo il primo lavoro della Tipografia del Monastero di S. Ambrogio.
