The battalion was destroyed attacking Thiepval on 1 July 1916. The remnants returned to England where the battalion was reformed. Includes statistics, rolls and other appendices. SCARCE. The revised edition of Graves' classic war memoir was first published in the US a week earlier; the UK edition was printed in far smaller numbers and is considerably scarcer. The 'revisions' amount in aggregate to a new book. Higginson A32h, recording that 6027 copies were printed.
