Nelle cc. preliminari, nella nota "al lettore", il traduttore Fabi scriveva di aver tradotto, per la prima volta questa op., perché Alessandro VI portò l'Italia alla perdita della libertà: "giova conoscere sì interessante periodo della storia italiana: un pontefice che insozza per più anni la cattedra di S.Pietro... Dacchè la corte di Roma prese la via degli interessi terreni, pose in oblio l'evangelica sua missione... e porse mano agli stranieri nell'opprimerli. Da quel momento si proclamò nemica della libertà, unità e indipendenzaa italiana..."(p.X). La nota è seguita dal "Discorso di Nicolò Ma-chiavelli sulla Corte di Roma". Prima non comune edizione di questo scritto del celebre poeta, editore e critico letterario, Adriano Spatola (Sappiane, 4 maggio 1941 – Sant'Ilario d'Enza, 23 novembre 1988) che fu tra i massimi esponenti e sperimentatore della poesia italiana del novecento ed esponente del “Gruppo 63”. Continuo sperimentatore, Spatola si avvicinò, fu uno degli sperimentatori della poesia concreta e della poesia sonora. Celeberrimo il suo studio di poetica “Verso la poesia totale” che ebbe grande seguito nel movimento artistico e letterario italiano. A lui si devono alcune delle più importanti riviste artistico-letterarie italiane come “Quindici” ed europee come “Tam Tam”. L'opera qui presentata che rappresenta un vero e proprio saggio di critica artistica ed estetica, è dedicata al lavoro del noto pittore calabrese, originario di Borgia in provincia di Catanzaro, Francesco Guerrieri che fu tra i massimi esponenti di spicco dell'arte contemporanea italiana iniziando a sperimentare in ricerche gestaltiche, programmate e strutturaliste. Guerrieri è stato con Di Luciano, Drei e Pizzo, il “Gruppo 63”. Nel settembre 1963 ha formato con Lia Drei lo Sperimentale p. che ha operato fino ai primi anni ‘70 in una posizione d’avanguardia nell’ambito dell’Arte Programmata e dello strutturalismo.
