Fifty pages comprise an alphabetic list of dream motifs and their corresponding lottery numbers and a further twenty list dream narratives and what fortune they denote.
The publisher/author named his work for Alessandro Cagliostro 1743-1795 an Italian magician who dazzled courts across Europe with his performances of divination and alchemy. A figure shrouded in mystery and occultism Cagliostro’s reputation inspired copycats and storytellers for decades after his death.
The Loterie Royale was established in 1776 as a public revenue interest. It was abolished during the French Revolution from 1793-1797. Each lottery drawing consisted of five numbers each between 1 and 90.
