Fifteen different hand-colored screenprints each 23 in. x 18 in. on heavy cardstock that feature traditional European costumes from various time periods. Includes No. 19 72 73 77 78 79 81 82 90 92 93 95 96 104 and 108 which highlight men's women's and children's costumes from the Byzantine Louis XV Louis XVI Directoire Empire-Romantic and Late Victorian eras. Light age-toning along edges with white cloth tape stretched along left edge where it was once bound. Several boards have show minor creases at bottom right corner. Print #19 has deterioration and the loss of some paper along bottom edge. Light edgewear to #81 and #82. Colors are vibrant and still "pop". Protected in archival plastic. WPA District 15 was located in PIttsburgh PA. The Museum Extension Project arm of the WPA which sponsored these specific plates focused on producing historic models puppets illustrated plates and maps for use in school districts especially those with limited access to museums.
