Mild toning old horizontal fold at center with wear nicks and short tears along with a few shallow losses along the upper margin; "JBS" written in red pencil at upper margin of front wrapper; Very Good. Scarce early ephemeral item delineating the core beliefs of the John Birch Society est.1958 and highlighting three of their prominent members: Robert W. Welch Jr. Founder John Rousselot District Governor and Dr. Revilo P. Oliver Council Member. Front and rear wrappers feature large photographic portraits of Rousselot and Oliver with biographical sketches and list of their accomplishments beneath. The tabloid folds out into a poster featuring photos of all three men with a list of eight questions along with their answers and explanations posed to Rousselot in the House of Representatives on Tuesday June 12 1962. Volume in 4°, tela editoriale, titolo al piatto con stemma fascista ed al dorso, sguardie (la prima cerniera è molto lenta), bianca, frontespizio in due colori, XVI, 382 pp., 47 tavole a colori di E. Bottaro protette da velina con le riproduzioni dei gonfaloni e costumi delle varie Università ed Accademie, 31 tavole silografiche eseguite da Attilio Giuliani ed una gran messe di fotogravures. Un'eccezionale carrellata storica di tutti i centri universitari e le Accademie italiane in un magnifico volume stampato a cura e per conto dei Gruppi Universitari Fascisti. Di eccezionale valore documentaristico, impresso su carta greve e bianca, con una ricchissima, ridondante iconografia, in ottimo stato (come s'è detto, la sola cerniera anterione, all'attaccatura della sguardia, è in parte disunita dal corpo del volume), quest'opera è pregevole e di scarsa reperibilità. Copia proveniente da Biblioteca, ma si ribadisce ottimamente conservata.

A biting satirical handbill juxtaposing a photographic image of an older Governor Ronald Reagan possibly for one of his gubernatorial campaigns but likely as a candidate for the White House in 1976 or 1980 over a portion of a speech delivered by Adolf Hitler in Hamburg in 1932. The excerpt reads: "The streets of our country are in turmoil. The universities are filled with students rebelling and rioting. Communists are seeking to destroy our country. Russia is threatening us with her might and the Republic is in danger. Yes danger from within and without. We need law and order. Yes without law and order our nation cannot survive. In the original dustwrapper unclipped priced 10s. 6d. net on front flap complete but toned on spine panel with general overall rubbing and soil just VG. <br /> <br /> An attempt to solve the "age-old problem of scent" among foxhunters this cataloguer for one can smell them a mile away and to "work out a perfectly simple instrument which will tell the hunting man exactly the percentage of chances of scent on any day at any time." Pollard in addition to being an avid huntsman was a British Special Operations officer an early member of MI6 and the author of numerous works on small arms a subject in which he was a recognized expert. In reviewing Pollard's colorful if rather dubious career it occurs to us that being smelt ought to have been fairly low on his list of worries: during the Irish War he conducted two legendarily byzantine and ultimately bungled false flag campaigns against the Nationalists; some years afterwards in the Spanish Civil War taking the side of the Fascists he served as Franco's personal courier and later defended the bombing of Guernica as "a perfectly legitimate target."
