A treatise on the rise and heyday of the Republic in the 17th century, its decline in the 18th century, and the means to restore its government, finances, agriculture, trade, shipping and industry. Zillesen (1736-1828) was a prolific writer on history, water management, currency and taxation. Binding visible between several pages. Pen side notes by an unknown author on several pages. Pages yellowing, wavy and slightly age-stained. [SUMMARY]: This old edition of an important Jewish text is in good reading condition.
