Nella notificazione veniva reso noto che il circondario d'esazione di Pontassieve comprendeva: Pelago, Rignano, Incisa, Reggello, Dicomano, S.Gaudenzio e Londa; al circondario di Greve: Castellina in Chianti, Radda e Gajole; veniva "traslato a Piombino l'ufficio d'esazione che attualmente risiede in Campiglia, verranno smembrate da questo le comunità di Guardistallo, Montescudajo e Casale... e abbraccerà le comunità di Campiglia, Bolgheri, Castagneto, Bibbona, Monteverdi, Sassetta, Suvereto", mentre il circondario di Volterra comprendeva: Castelnuovo, Montecatini, Pomarance, Guardistallo, Montescudajo, Casale.

Il 18 settembre 1909 si abbona al Gabinetto Vieusseux e dall’amicizia con Laura e Angiolo Orvieto scaturirà la collaborazione col «Marzocco» dal 1916 al 1932, con lo pseudonimo di Bianca Maria. La sua attnzione per gli aspetti sociali della campagna toscana la portarono a studiare profondamente la vita dei contadini e le problematiche in essa presenti. Questa volume, è una descrizione autobiografica romanzata delle campagne del chianti (fra San Leolino, Panzano in Chianti, Greve In Chianti), delle usanze folkloristiche e dei personaggi che in essa vivono.
