In 4° piccolo (23,5x17 cm); 6 parti ognuna composta di 16 carte stampate su un unico lato. Legatura coeva in mezza-tela con titolo impresso in oro sul dorso e piatti foderati con carta marmorizzata coeva. Le ultime due opere con pagine lievemente ed uniformemente brunite, qualche altra lieve ed ininfluente macchiolina in poche pagine e nel complesso esemplare in buone condizioni di conservazione. Prima edizione di questa raccolta di opere satiriche e caricaturali del celebre illustratore, caricaturista e fumettista francese, DSC_0051_clipped_rev_1Charles Amédée de Noé noto con lo pseudonimo di Cham (Parigi, 26 gennaio 1818 – Parigi, 6 settembre 1879). Di nobili origini, suo padre era Conte di Noé e Pari di Francia, nonostante una naturale predisposizione per la matematica, preferì fin da giovane di frequentare le botteghe dei due celebri pittori, Nicolas Toussaint Charlet e Paul Delaroche. La sua opera “Histoire de Mr. Lajaunisse”, pubblicata per la prima volta nel 1839, una storia ideata come un susseguirsi di immagini sequenziali sulla scorta dell’opera dello svizzero Rodolphe Topffer, è considerato il primo albo a fumetti francese. Quelle qui presentate sono una serie di opere caricaturali e satiriche dedicate a vari avvenimenti o gruppi sociali come la celebre Esposizione Industriale del 1849 (con le caricature di numerose invenzioni e novità qui presentate per la prima volta), le vacanze dei politici, i cacciatori, le teorie sociali Proudhoniane, l’autunno (con varie vignette di caccia) e la primavera (con le corse dei cavalli). Prima edizione in buone condizioni di conservazione. Non comuni.
Una rivisitazione storica del '68 che può contribuire a risvegliare quel senso di appartenenza ad una comunità.

Very Good Turkish, Ottoman (1500-1928) Original manuscript autograph letter signed by Haydar Rifat Yorulmaz, on a lawsuit related to a non-muslim Greek citizen's lands. Handwritten corrections on letter. Postal stamped. A Greek note. 20,5x13,5 cm. In Ottoman script. 1 p. Foxing on stamps on paper. Otherwise a good and exceedingly rare ALS with Rifat's rare signature. Haydar Rifaat [sic. Rifat] Yorulmaz, (1877-1942), was a Turkish lawyer, author, translator. He translated the most important texts of the western world such as Karl Marx's Das Capital, Tolstoy's Resurrection, Daudet's Sappho, Lenin's works, and books on anarchism firstly in the Turkish literature. In addition he wrote more than 15 books such as "Sovyetizm ve demokrasi", "Bolseviklik alemi" and others between the years of 1922-1939. He's one of the most important figure in the last period of the Ottoman Empire and Republican Turkey in terms of the modernism and leftist movements.

Fine Turkish Paperback. Partly uncut pages. Cr. 8vo. (19 x 14 cm). In Turkish. 46 p. Kapitalsiz kapitalistler. Karadeniz was a student leader of the late 1960s generation in Turkey and the chair of the Student Union of Istanbul Technical University. Together with other prominent student leaders such as Deniz Gezmis, he was one of the student leaders who organized the famous 1968 protest against the American Navy's Sixth Fleet arriving at the Port of Istanbul, although he was initially against protesting at the docks themselves. Karadeniz suffered cancer when he was in detention after the 1971 military coup in Turkey. He was not allowed medical treatment during his imprisonment, which eventually led to the spread of the cancer. Despite medical treatment in London, he died at age 33. In this book, he has tried to adapt Brecht's socialist method to the society in Turkey. Title means 'Capitalists without capital'. OCLC has late editions, not this edition. Extremely rare.

Exceedingly rare first and only Uyghur translation of the speeches of the revolutionary leaders and members of the CCP or authors and intellectuals like Hua Guofeng, (1921-2008), Deng Xiaoping, (1904-1997), Fang Yui, (1916-1997), Guo Moruo [Dindang], (1892-1978), Ji Dengkui, (1923-1988). These speeches were made at the National Science Conference held in Beijing on March 18-31,1978. We couldn't find any copy in OCLC.

First Turkish edition of the "Chinese War of Independence" written by Mao Zedong in 1936 during the war with the Kuomintang and Japan. It was translated by Ahmet Angin (1919-1977) from the French text. This translation was published by Bülent Habora (1940-2014) (the owner of Habora Publishing House). Habora left his studies at Ankara University, Faculty of Law and worked as a journalist and publisher. He managed Habora Publishing House, which he founded (1966-95). OCLC 62124547.

In Turkish. 8 p. 3rd issue of this rare trade union periodical published by "Ilerici Yapi-Is", with a very attractive Mao portrait (the best-known photo of his youth) and a poem by Che Guevara, with an annotation "The memory of the great leader of the Chinese Proletariat, Mao Zedong, will shed light on the liberation struggle of the oppressed peoples of the world."
