Dust jacket is price-clipped with a few small tears around upper spine, otherwise light scuffing only. 62 pages of book is nearly all photographs, showing 258 bayonets in b&w with index numbers. Front of book defines those numbers. Arranged by country -- of which there are about 25.

In-12°, (24cc), 560pp, (4cc), half-title, wooden engraved ornaments and tail ornaments, splendid red morocco binding, gilt coat of arms of Archbishop of Tarsus Francesco Maria Febei on both sides, gilt title at the spine, ornaments, bands, gilt edges. It is the most known work of Umbrian jurist Antonstefano Cartari. Dedication copy to the same Archbishop Febei.

Based upon 20 years of study by a former arms Research and Development Engineer. For arms collectors there are over 175 pages of text and exact scale drawings. Covered are 5 prototypes and 21 standard rifles, with additional variations as to sights, 'scopes, and attachments. Also covered are the Pederson Device, Garand firing pin and Woody set trigger. For cartridge collectors there are some 60 pages with drawings devoted to every significant standard .30-'03 and .30-'06 cartridge, to past Match ammunition, and to Cal. .22 ammunition in the Service. For shooters, a third of the book is devoted to adjustment and maintenance, rational approach to Sporter rifle design, modern methods of modifying the '03 for target use, and informed selection of hunting loads. Includes over 100 illustrations. Unquestionably the most complete and useful work ever produced on a specific subject, and merits the attention of all arms men. Small bookseller's sticker upon each endpaper else clean and unmarked. Price-clipped dust jacket bears average wear with some tears and is protected by clear plastic cover. Remains a nice copy of this magnificent work. Book
