Peck in the House of Representatives the answer of James H. Peck and related documents. Peck was charged with exceeding his contempt powers by imprisoning and causing the suspension of a lawyer who had written an article critical of the judge. Senate failed to convict on a vote of 21 to 22. unknown

No loss of print. Light scattered foxing and toning to the contents. Previous owner name top of the front cover appears to be Alexander S. Erwin. Debates concern Railroad Company practices. Senators named include John W. Maddox; Robert Falligant; F. H. Colley; T. B. Cabaniss; Lem Johnson; D. E. Smith; H.C. Sheffield; D. A. Russell; J. M. Smith; and John S. Davidson. Scarce. Fair condition only. This pamphlet was once possibly owned by Alexander Smith Erwin 1843-1907. Smith a veteran of the Confederate army and a prominent Athenian jurist is remembered for advancing further than any other Confederate soldier during Pickett’s Charge at Gettysburg. Bronson's account of the debates in the U.S. Senate beginning on Jan. 4 1802 leading to the vote to repeal the Judiciary Act of 1801 which had reorganized and expanded federal jurisdiction. A supporter of the Federalist Party Enos Bronson 1774-1823 published the Gazette of the United States from 1801 to 1804 and with Elihu Chauncey The United States' Gazette for the Country from 1804 to 1818.
