Die Ausgabe erschien zum 28. Jahrestag der "Großen Sozialistischen Oktoberrevolution" im erweiterten Umfang von 16 Seiten. Das Titelblatt zeigt Lenin und Stalin mit großen fotografischen Abbildungen, zudem eine historische Ansicht des Kreml auf voller Seitenbreite. Die Texte der Ausgabe stellen die Errungenschaften der Sowjetunion vor: Rote Armee, Fünfjahrespläne, Industrie, Akademie der Wissenschaften, Kunst etc. Viele große Wissenschaftler und Künstler/innen werden zum Jahrestag der Oktoberrevolution zitiert, stets mit einer Porträtabbildung. Auch die einzelnen Sowjetrepubliken werden vorgestellt, jeweils mit Abbildung der Embleme. Hier heißt es beispielsweise zum gerade erst annektierten Lettland (nach Abzug der Wehrmacht): "Lettland trat erst im Jahre 1940 in die Familie der Republiken der Sowjetunion ein." Im zweiten Teil der erweiterten Ausgabe sind einige Berichte zu finden, etwa über den Alltag in einem "sowjetischen Betrieb, wie er wirklich ist" oder über den "Kindergarten einer Fabrik", jeweils mit zahlreichen Abbildungen. Sehr interessante Selbstdarstellung der UdSSR für die deutsche Bevölkerung in der sowjetisch besetzten Zone. Seltenes Exemplar der SMAD-Zeitung aus ersten Monaten nach Kriegsende und in voller Entfaltung zeitgenössischer sozialistischer Propaganda!

Sir Edward John Russell OBE FRS was a British soil chemist, agriculture scientist, and director of Rothamsted Experimental Station from 1912 to 1943. He was responsible for hiring R.A. Fisher for statistical research at Rothamsted. Driven by concerns over a lack of international information exchange about agriculture, he initiated the Imperial Agricultural Bureaux, which later became the Commonwealth Agricultural Bureaux. Russell was born Frampton-on-Severn, Gloucestershire, the eldest son of the Reverend Edward T. Russell who had worked earlier as a schoolmaster. In 1885 he studied at Birmingham where the family moved before moving the next year to London. He was educated at Carmarthen Presbyterian College, University College of Wales, Aberystwyth, and at the Victoria University of Manchester. He earned his doctorate in chemistry (D.Sc.) from the University of London in July 1902. Russell worked as a demonstrator and lecturer at the chemistry department in Victoria University, Manchester from 1898 and became the head of the department at Agricultural college Wye from 1892 to 1907. From 1907 to 1912 he was appointed soil chemist at Rothamsted through Goldsmith's Company's endowment of £10,000. In 1913 he became a director of the research station, succeeding Alfred Daniel Hall. Russell worked on soil chemistry and plant nutrition. Russell appointed R.A. Fisher at the experimental station in 1919 after hiring him initially on a temporary basis. Russell was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire in the 1918 New Year Honours for his efforts during the First World War as Technical Adviser in the Food Production Department. He was knighted in 1922. He served as the President of the Geographical Association in 1923. Russell was president of the British Association from 1948-1949. This is the first and only Turkish translation of this book printed for propaganda during World War II. It's from a series of 'Britain in Pictures'.

In questo volume sono raccolti i risultati di uno studio sul rapporto tra religione e politica e sul ruolo della propaganda religiosa tra le due guerre. Gli storici hanno tracciato in passato un esauriente profilo dell'azione dei cappellani militari, ma assenti o approssimativi sono gli studi degli strumenti della propaganda adottati dal clero castrense durante il trentennio che separa la grande guerra dal secondo conflitto mondiale. La ricerca nasce con l'intento di illuminare questo cono d'ombra, attraverso la straordinaria raccolta d'iconotesti, pamphlets e opuscoli religiosi (conservati presso l'archivio del Museo della guerra di Rovereto), che ha permesso un approccio nuovo alle vicende belliche e agli eventi storico-politici del paese. Accanto alla copiosa produzione di santini militari, che costituivano un veicolo dell'azione pedagogica del clero, emergono numerosi contributi del cattolicesimo militante e una vasta documentazione legata all'editoria minore, un mondo quasi sommerso, essenziale ai fini della ricostruzione dei nessi tra politica e religione, che si susseguirono tra il 1915 e il 1945 e che ebbero come momento centrale il ventennio fascista.
