A single issue of this Upstate New York weekly newspaper which began publication in 1801. This issue contains the text of President Jefferson's Message to Congress of Nov. 8th. In his speech Jefferson discusses relations with foreign powers including the Delaware and other Indian tribes the Louisiana Purchase; the United States Navy; and the federal budget. Critical of Jefferson Croswell would later be tried for libel and defended before the Supreme Court by Alexander Hamilton. The publication of this weekly newspaper would continue through 1807. unknown books

Peterson appears to have been the editor of a the Alvarado-based Baptist journal "Maranatha" as well as two collections of Christmas tracts. The 1940 census lists a P. Alfred Peterson born in Sweden in 1886 and currently residing in Alvarado Minnesota with a wife and 5-year-old son. The author's foreign origins would most likely explain the use of the non-existent word "Appearings" in the title. This monograph on the appearances of Christ appears to be unrecorded with no holdings in OCLC COPAC or the Minnesota Historical Society as of July 2014. <br/><br/> Maranatha Tract Mission unknown books
