The Wimbledon and Sutton Railway Company Ltd. incorporated in law by the present Act continued in operation from 1910 to 1925. When in 1923 the Southern Railway Company was formed by merging the five major southern lines and several smaller operators the Wimbledon & Sutton fought to stay apart.
