Traduzione e prefazione di Giovanni Baldazzi. Il libro era stato edito da Putnam a NY nel 1924. Di notevole interesse storico per le vicende del pacifismo dopo la prima guerra mondiale e la costituzione della Società delle Nazioni. Il libro venne promosso in Italia dalla Società per la Pace e la Giustizia Internazionale di Milano, fondata da Ernesto Teodoro Moneta, Premio Nobel per la Pace nel 1907.

Eisenhower: "Every gun that is made every warship launched every rocket fired signifies in the final sense a theft from those who hunger and are not fed those who are cold and are not clothed.". Attractive broadside issued by the US arm of The Fellowship of Reconciliation FOR a religious nonviolent group founded in 1915 by 68 pacifists who claim to be "the largest oldest interfaith peace and justice organization in the United States." The contents reproduced from their appearance in the New York Times June 16 1968 and Los Angeles Times June 23 1968 came closely on the heels of Robert F. Kennedy's assassination. Beside photographic portraits of Kennedy Martin Luther King Jr. and John F. Kennedy the broadside calls the abolition of small artms and for American citizens to disarm themselves: "But Americans have permitted a climate of violence to grow in their society. They have allowed advertising to fill their television screens with simple-minded glamorization of violence and pressure groups to block legislation that would make it harder for sick men to possess the weapons of murder." Listed are an "honor roll of self-disarmers" suggestions for how one could get on the honor roll and a mail-in pledge card at lower right corner. La Societe' interparlamentaire pour l'arbitrage et la paix fu fondata nel 1889 a Parigi dai pacifisti William Randal Cremer e Frederic Passy. Il comitato italiano sorse per opera di Ruggero Bonghi. Nel 1889 e nel 1890 i delegati italiani parteciparono alle riunioni di Parigi e Londra, propiziando la designazione di Roma come sede della Conferenza dell'Unione interparlamentare e del Congresso universale del 1891.

Un unique exemplaire recensé: réunion des Bibliothèques italiennes (ICCU). Mû par un sentiment pro-français et dirigé contre Rome, l’auteur prophétise dans une perspective millénariste, l’avènement d’une ère de paix internationale (‘Monarchia del mondo’), de pacification des querelles intestines et de tolérance religieuse universelle. Bayle a commenté cet ouvrage dans son dictionnaire (art. 'Xénophane', 4:518), à propos de la partialité des historiens : "J’ai lu un livre italien qui a pour titre ‘Monarchia del nostro signor Giesu Christo’ (…).
