A superb first edition of this well-known editorial cartoon collection subtitled "From Little Italy to the Pulitzer Prize" on the jacket front panel by the Pulitzer Prize-winning 1969 syndicated political cartoonist 1916-80 who delighted "Chicago Daily News" readers for many years before switching to the "Chicago Tribune" in 1978. Handsomely inscribed and signed by the cartoonist in the year of publication on the title page in blue ballpoint: "To Doris and Felix Popper / Who's Mom is a real doll! / -- My warmest good wishes to you both / -- John Fischetti -- " Felix Popper 1908-2000 was a conductor with the New York City Opera his wife Doris born 1924 an opera singer with that same company.
