This is an almost very good hardcover copy without dust jacket as issued. Text in French. This is an unusual copy. The book was issued in a limited edition of 600 copies. The colophon states this copy is 'Examplaire d'auteur', this is handwritten. The book has also been signed by the author, Antoine Schnapper, in ink on the front endpaper, and inscribed to a prominent art historian, a specialist in 17th and 18th century European painting and drawing, at the Institute of Fine Arts in New York. The author has also inscribed his card as well, this laid in. The art historian's bookplate affixed to the same endpaper. This copy is furthur unusual, as the American art historian has annotated the text with a number of pencil underlinings and marks. (All of this in light pencil and could be removed). The front cover has a spot of stain, the size of a quarter, lighter than the yellow boards. Also a small tan stain to the inside top edge of the front board. Other than annotations, the text and plates are clean. 269 black & white illustrations. A catalogue raisonne for this artist. Extensive bibliography. 12" high X 8" wide, 299 pages. Large heavy book, foreign shipping will be extra. This book will be securely wrapped and packed in a sturdy box and shipped with tracking.
This is a good hardcover reference copy of Band VII only (Coniuratio-Eigenschaften), from the multi-volume set, with light wear to the covers, and a splash to the top page-edge. This is visible only on the preliminary pages: endpaper, through title-page, the top and front page-edge, otherwise clean throughout. Text in German. Band VII only. 12" high X 8" wide, 828 pages. This book will be securely wrapped and packed in a sturdy box and shipped with tracking.
