Rare Seljuk coins [and] the coins of Siyavus (Cimri).= Selçuklular'in nadir paralarindan bazilari ve Cimri'nin sikkeleri. First Edition. 'Djimri' according to the writings of Osman Ferid Saglam, the word 'Cimri' is used as a synonym for 'ephony-sultan'. Yazicioglu Ali, in his book entitled 'Tevârih-i Âl-i Selçuk' (No: 1390, Revan Library, the Topkapi Palace) argues that Cimri was not a name attributed to a vagabond who had claimed that he was Siyavus bin Izzeddin, but a derisive adjective used for him by pro-Seljuk historians. The actual meaning of the word is 'ordinary', or 'III-bred', or 'one who has sprung up from anywhere'.

Kazisi yapilan mezarlara ait buluntularin degerlendirildigi ilk Doktora calismasi A. Baldiran tarafindan ?Stratonikeia Nekropol Buluntulari? adiyla 1990 yilinda yapilmistir.

New English Paperback. Pbo. 4to. (28 x 21,5 cm). [x], 217, [1] p. In English. Color and b/w ills. This publication is the first result of investigations that began as conversations and contemplations with my long-term advisor and mentor Machteld J. Mellink during a visit toTarsus in May 1998. The occasion for the visit was the 20th Annual Excavation Results Symposium hosted by the Ministry of Culture, General Directorate of Monuments and Museums. The idea of preparing for a Bogaziçi University Expedition to Cilicia took shape as one of many projects contrived at our annual sojourn in ancient Myndos (Gümüslük) with Daryo Mizrahi and Selçuk Esenbel. The encouragement and sustained support of Selçuk Esenbel, Professor of History and at the time Chair of the History Deparment at B. U. to initiate such a project laid the ground for all future work.
New English Paperback. 4to. (28 x 20 cm). In English. 396 p., ills. Komana small finds (Settlement Archaeology Series 7). The aim of this book has been to collect papers on small finds recovered during the excavations at Komana between 2009 and 2018. It also marks the 10th year of excavations. Komana is a sanctuary site during the Hellenistic period, a place of worship for the kings as well as people from all over the country. It existed through the Roman and then the Byzantine period, was mentioned in the early Turkish written sources and reached the Turkish Republican period as a small rural village. The site is and was in a rural setting, surrounded by agricultural land along Yesilirmak and its economy depended on agriculture throughout its history. The rural character was not a limitation for the site, on the contrary an attraction due to the wealth it generated. There are clear imports from the Aegean among the scarce finds from the Hellenistic period just like the wealthy finds from the Byzantine and Danishmend / Seljuk periods indicating contacts with Corinth, Byzantium, Cilicia, Iran, Egypt. Contents: D. Burcu ERCIYAS / Archaeology at Komana.; Tasha VORDERSTRASSE / Experiencing the Medieval Churches of Komana.; Meryem ACARA ESER / Objects from Daily Life at Komana: Jewelry.; Yunus Emre KARASU - Nursen ÖZKUL FINDIK / Figured Ceramics Found at Komana (Tokat) Excavations.; Tasha VORDERSTRASSE / Lamps from the Roman - Middle Islamic Periods .; Gülseren KOYUN ESEN / Small Finds at Komana Made of Bone, Clay and Stone.; Evangelia PISKIN - Hilal KÜNTÜZ / Bone Working Waste: The Infamous Bone Worker and Other Craftsmen Peeking Through the Animal Bone Assemblage from Medieval Komana.; Ceren ÜNAL / Byzantine Coin Finds from the Komana Excavation: A Preliminary Study.; Polina IVANOVA / The Coins: Danishmend / Seljuk Phase.; Ömür BAKIRER / Komana Glass Bracelets, Preliminary Report.; Nurdan YÜCEL - Emine N. Die in den letzten Jahren einsetzenden Ausgrabungen im Hekate-Temenos von Lagina machen deutlich, daß die vorliegende Studie zum Lagina-Fries mit dem Interesse an einer Neubewertung der archäologischen Funde aus diesem bedeutenden karischen Heiligtum nicht allein steht.
