The binding is in poor condition with heavy wear to the boards spine partially gone exposing cords hinges tender but intact contents remarkably clean with only the usual age-toning. Sully 1560-1641 was a Huguenot soldier financier and statesman who became Henry IV's chief minister and under his often autocratic guidance restored stability and solvency to France's affairs. He left a collections of memoirs written in the second person first published in 1634 which are valuable as a history of the times. Our offering is the second volume of these memoirs commencing with chapter 71 and concluding with a comprehensive Table of Contents.
