Small folio. 20-century full calf tooled in blind and gilt dyed title panel on front board. Very minor wear and scuffing. Contemporary manuscript rubrics. Light tanning. The constitution of Nuevo Léon required its Secretary of State to provide an annual account of income and expenses for the state's operation. The present work contains a seven-page narrative report on various government operations public health jails roads education industry agriculture the church and the military. Following this account are nineteen tables with statistical data for these subject areas each signed in print and with the manuscript rubric of the state secretary Pedro del Valle. Interestingly two of the tables that record census data for the population of Nuevo Léon and the sum of livestock and cattle in the state are both completed in manuscript. Scarce and an interesting record of operations and accounting for this future border state during the first decade of Mexican independence; we locate only one other copy at the British Library.
