Tall octavo approximately 235 × 150 mm comprising five folding panels of samples of coloured silk thread 243 samples in all mounted in a textured card folder. An index is mounted inside the front cover; information sheets about availability and suitability of shades are mounted on the verso of two of the panels. Folder slightly marked and rubbed with a few bumps to the edges at the rear; the silk samples are in uniformly fine condition. One of the printed information sheets states that 'All shades on this color card are stocked at Adelaide depot' establishing a clear Australian connection with what was in its time and a very long time that was the largest silk factory in the world. Oblong album 21 x 30.5 cm. 38 pages; with 52 original labels or wrappers pasted-in each with a handwritten annotation on the leaf not the label with the name of the product including weight and price. FIRST EDITION. A handsome salesman's sample album that showing the varied offerings of the firm of Nougats Arnaud Soubeyran. Products represented include fruit nougats chocolate pistachios . all with very beautiful labels including one illustrated by Alain Saint-Ogan. The labels are striking in their design many with electric colors and colorful ribbons. "The history of this great house located in Montelimar north of Avignon begins in 1837 with a marriage between Mr. Arnaud confectioner and a Miss Soubeyran. Together they launched nougat production on a scale exceeding that of any single pastry chef. Their goal was to position their high-end confectionery by employing the best regional raw materials" company website. The firm persists and includes a Nougat Museum in the town of Montelimar. Some light dusting to some of the leaves and the labels but mostly sound and clean. The colors are unfaded. In full green alligator-patterned cloth tied on cord. Gilt titled on the front board. Some light rubbing to edges otherwise near fine. Rare. OCLC locates no copies of any publication of Arnaud Soubeyran. the company hardcover

From Wikipedia: "Nuclear reprocessing technology was developed to chemically separate and recover fissionable plutonium from irradiated nuclear fuel. 1 Reprocessing serves multiple purposes whose relative importance has changed over time. Originally reprocessing was used solely to extract plutonium for producing nuclear weapons. With the commercialization of nuclear power the reprocessed plutonium was recycled back into MOX nuclear fuel for thermal reactors. 2 The reprocessed uranium which constitutes the bulk of the spent fuel material can in principle also be re-used as fuel but that is only economic when uranium prices are high. Finally a breeder reactor is not restricted to using recycled plutonium and uranium. It can employ all the actinides closing the nuclear fuel cycle and potentially multiplying the energy extracted from natural uranium by about 60 times. 34 Nuclear reprocessing reduces the volume of high-level waste but by itself does not reduce radioactivity or heat generation and therefore does not eliminate the need for a geological waste repository. Reprocessing has been politically controversial because of the potential to contribute to nuclear proliferation the potential vulnerability to nuclear terrorism the political challenges of repository siting a problem that applies equally to direct disposal of spent fuel and because of its high cost compared to the once-through fuel cycle. 5 In the United States the Obama administration stepped back from President Bush's plans for commercial-scale reprocessing and reverted to a program focused on reprocessing-related scientific research. 6 Nuclear fuel reprocessing is performed routinely in Europe Russia and Japan."
