Literature on ancient crosses is strangely limited to pre-mediaeval and village crosses; only here does one find extensive treatment of the (architecturally) far more interesting Eleanor Crosses, and a chapter on lych gates. SCARCE, ESPECIALLY IN THIS CONDITION.
