The book is in only fair condition with the cloth spine loose on one side. An original "record" book it it rubbed on the surface and at the corners & edges. Not quite disbound. They established African Lodge No. 1 on July 3 1775. In 1784 a formal request for a charter was submitted to the Grand Lodge of England and upon approval African Lodge No. 1 was redesignated as African Lodge No. 459 in Boston Massachusetts.
