Dedica dello stampatore ad Alvise Pisani ''procuratore di San Marco, e riformatore dello tudio di Padova''. Ristampa fedele, anche tipograficamente, dell'edizione giolitiana del 1570. I due antichi autori greci (Ditti Candiano o di Creta e Darete di Frigia), secondo la tradizione, avevano partecipato alla guerra di Troia e da testimoni oculari ne avevano riferito in queste loro opere complementari, le quali poi vennero tradotte in latino, rispettivamente da Lucio Settimio (vedi Diz. Bompiani, Opere III, 33) e da Cornelio Nepote. Interessanti in fine le ''Vite di tutti gl'istorici antichi greci'' del Porcacchi. Esemplare fresco e marginoso..
