Un adeguato tessuto connettivo costituito dalle numerose altre voci biografiche e stilistiche, stese dai suoi due collaboratori. Ne è nato uno strumento di consultazione e di cultura con una grande quantità di informazioni per una ricerca rapida e un chiaro inquadramento per epoca e per paese, utile per gli studenti e per gli addetti ai lavori. Edizione a cura di Renato Pedio, aggiornata nelle indicazioni dei dati biografici dei singoli architetti. Introduzione di Vittorio Gregotti. Nikolaus Pevsner è nato in Germania nel 1902 e ha insegnato in diverse università. Ha diretto la Pelican History of Art ed è autore di molte opere. Di Pevsner Einaudi ha anche pubblicato L'architettura moderna e il design e Le Accademie d'arte. Nato in Inghilterra nel 1919, John Fleming è autore, tra le altre opere, del Dizionario delle Arti Minori e Decorative (in collaborazione con Hugh Honour). Hugh Honour, nato in Inghilterra nel 1927, ha lavorato presso il British Museum. Tra le opere più importanti: L'arte della cineseria. Immagine del Catai e Neoclassicismo (Einaudi 1980). It includes a valuable comparison of French and English Gothic in which the help of Viollet-le-Duc is acknowledged, together with an extended topographical and glossarial indexes. What is not acknowledged is the quality of Jewitt's woodcuts which enhanced every edition.
