Contemporary mottled brown sheep scuffed spine and morocco labels gilt title label damaged green silk marker edges marbled blue. Ownership inscription of Andreas Meyer dated 4 Dec. 1843. Internally fine despite the usual browning of German books of this era. ; and a full-page engraved frontispiece same as above folding engraved map of Germanic territories. In good condition. A fine German baroque sammelband of Roman war histories. The first is a condensed version of the lengthy sagas of Julius Caesar’s military campaigns in De Bello Alexandrino De Bello Africo and De Bello Hispaniensi thought to have been written by the Roman legate Hirtius.
