Entré dans la police en 1832, nommé commissaire le 3 janvier1848, d’abord à Meaux, puis à Passy, son premier coup d’éclat est de faire arrêter des factieux mazzinistes. C’est l’affaire Orsini qui le promeut en haut de la hiérarchie : officier de paix, commissaire aux délégations judiciaires et, enfin, chef de la sûreté, poste qu’il occupera de 1858 à la fin de sa carrière, en 1875. Mr Cross is fully sensible of the labour and time which you and your colleagues have bestowed upon the Enquiry and I am now desired by him to forward to you a copy of the Police orders of the 6th Instant showing the new regulation which have been issued with his sanction for the organisation of the Criminal Investigation Department. Dark red calf marbled silk pocket inside front flexible board leaves printed in red and black on watermarked Linen Ledger front cover ink marked "1903-4" rear cover ink marked "Vera M. Gray Moscow Idaho." A sheriff deputy's log of subpoenas and summons served many for the State of Minnesota plaintiff from December 1903 to May 1904 in pencil and ink. About a third of the blanks are filled. Turned over the notebook was used to record expense notations on blank leaves for 1909 at the University of Idaho with clothes books and music purchase amounts followed by tutoring logs. np unknown

Two notebooks with stiff green paper covers plastic comb bound. The first copyright 1967 & 1968 with 1970 and 1971 calendars on first leaf followed by pp. 28 of Revised Code of Washington license plate prefixes evidence guides and emergency aspects of childbirth etc. Remainder of leaves are printed log blanks unmarked. Covers sunned and stained.<p>The second notebook has fewer of the preliminaries but identical log blanks the first two of which are notated the first dated 11/19/1980. In a flip folder that houses the notebooks green cloth covered boards "Snohomish County Sheriff" emblem printed in gold "Det Evenson" Dymo label and several business cards inside stainless steel clip placeholder. The citations in the second book refer to a new ordinance regarding paraphernalia and a subject's moving violations. E. Turner and Son unknown
