Crown folio measures 18 x 11.5 / 46 x 30 cm. 43 pages 15 photogravure plates cord-tied leaves largely disbound with creased alligator-patterned paper wrappers. Inked name of W.C. Masterson. Offered "as is" with any faults. NOTE: SOME GRAVURES MISSING.

This peculiar work was included in the Library of the Woman's Building of the World's Columbian Exposition. The WCE inspired the female employees of Kane County Illinois to create this testimonial to the progressivism of the Kane County Government in employing women. Funds were raised with an elaborate celebration of the dedication of the new County Court House September 30 1892. The previous court house had burned down. This work recounts how the women employees defied the smoke and flames while feeding the paperwork into the vault. Not in Dybwad's bibliography of the World's Columbian Exposition .
