16-4387Paris: 1939. Original typescript. 2pp 4to. Provenance Estate of Paul Lombard. Expertise by Ségolène Beauchamp 86bis rue de Bellébat 45000 Orléans and Pierre Prévost 75 rue Michel Ange 75016 Paris. Morlaix 16 Août 1933 20 x 12.50 cm une page recto verso Autograph letter by General Maxime Weygand 22 lines written in black ink on a recto verso sheet with letterhead from his manor of Coat Amour near Morlaix in Finistère. Crease inherent to folding for mailing. Maxime Weygand has been very busy lately: ""J'ai été sans cesse en route ces temps derniers Me voici fort embarassé. I have been constantly traveling lately. Here I am quite embarrassed. I wrote these two articles ""Taking Command as a Leader"" and ""At the Turn of the Road"" a few days after Marshal Foch's death and at the urging of various people at a time when the sadness I was plunged into had withdrawn me from the world. and cannot answer his correspondent's question: ""Vraiment je ne sais plus et je n'ai rien ici qui me permette de mieux savoir."" Truly I no longer know and I have nothing here that would allow me to know better. unknown
