In the original binding of the era 17.5 x 12.5 cm.

The collections present the most striking masterpieces of the masters of judicial speech - Leon Clery Charles Lacho Edouard Alloux Fernand Labori Henri Robert and Felix Decori. Their speeches are distinguished by clarity of presentation elegance of form impeccable consistency and captivating simplicity that does not turn into clumsiness. Charles Lacho is primarily known for his participation in the high-profile trial of 1840 in which 24-year-old Marie Lafarge was accused of poisoning her husband. Sentenced to hard labor for life. Edouard Alloud made his name in the case of the statesman Léon Michel Gambetta who was brought to trial in 1877. This collection presents his materials on the defense of the actress Sarah Bernhardt who broke off relations with the Comédie Française. Fernand Laborit earned a reputation as a defender of ideas not personalities. In 1894 he defended the anarchist Auguste Vagliano who threw a bomb in the Chamber of Deputies; later that year risking his life he defended the rights of Alfred Dreyfus. In the case of the murder of the bailiff Gouffé two luminaries came together: Henri Robert and Félix Décory who brilliantly defended the two accused a young couple although the guilt of the criminals was obvious.
Printing House of St. Petersburg.
