Originally published in America in 9 vols in quarto. The first three volumes are arranged to be accessible to the general reader and the ornithologist. Volume 1 is prefixed by a biographical memoir by Mr. Hetherington. The fourth volume contains the American Ornithology of Prince Charles Lucian Bonaparte.
