The outer rear hinge of Volume I is cracking but the inner hinges are reinforced with cloth as published so that the bindings are still fairly sound. Outer edges of the text blocks are foxed. The text is generally clean. Volume I contains the history and contains several pages of photos of buildings and scenes about the county and Ames Iowa.
