2006USC026Southern Historical Press. New with No dust jacket as issued. 2006. Hardcover. Vol. 2. 300 pages. These are abstracts of Deed Books E-F. Laurens county was created out of the Old Ninety-Six District of S.C. which at one time comprised the entire Upstate. Laurens county was one of the major paths of migration into South Carolina as well as from S.C. to Georgia Alabama and points west. Deeds are a wonderful source for genealogical research due to the many family members being mentioned. Even though these deeds begin with the creation of the court system there are deeds within this book that go back to as early as 1793. This book is even of more importance to the researcher since South Carolina did not officially record Vital Records marriages births etc. until the year 1911. . Southern Historical Press hardcover
