Cloth cover with gold stamping is well-used and is detached from the interior both front and back. The title page is detached but the remainder of the interior is largely intact. Some pages "browned" opposite interleaved images. Paper is moderately yellowed and marginally brittle; nevertheless a good candidate for repair or rebinding. This copy include the publication notice a one-page supplement dated 1920 a news clipping dated 1911 and the author's address label the latter two glued to the front cover end paper 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. The volume includes essays by Henry R. Stiles on the origins of the family and name six pages and the Stiles family in England 61 pages. Clean interior on high quality paper in need of rebinding. Boards are present and attached to the book block but the back strip is completely torn off and the spine is broken completely in one place and mostly broken in a second. Unpaginated but Volume 2 contains chart 957 with Mainwaring Meschines Kevelioc and Gernon through chart 2178 with Poppo II Sophia of Istria and Von Sponheim for an estimated 1200 pages.
